Tangazo is a meeting place where we share ideas and explore efforts to improve our human conditions and quite simply make our lives better. All are welcome, none will be judged, but all are challenged to look beyond ourselves and our notions of how others think about issues of cultural, political and social significance. We are building bridges of communication between the many groups that make up the St. Louis Metropolitan Region by sharing and reflecting on the stories and lives of a diverse group of guests.

Recording this week's episode of the KDHX podcast Tangazo, was satisfying, to say the least. ———

My guests were the leadership of the St. Louis County Council, Chairman Rita Heard Days and Vice-Chairman Shalonda Webb. ———

We spent quite a bit of time talking about the value of these two African American women working together,  on the many issues of concern to the black communities in St. Louis county. ———

Issues such as the redevelopment of Jamestown Mall, in far northeast county and their efforts deliver a multi recreation and sports complex again for north county. A project that was first conceived of, by the late County Councilwoman Hazel Erby. ———

Talking with these two dedicated courageous public servants, who are the exception, to the transactional type career politicians, to which we have grown accustomed was indeed refreshing to my tired old ears. Lol ——

I’m sure that you will also find their genuine commitment to public service and their dedication to uplifting disadvantaged communities in St. Louis county just as refreshing as your Tangazo host found them to be. ———
